Youth ministries at Christus Victor are off to a great start this fall. Our confirmation students are learning about the 10 commandments this year. It is a fitting theme as we work through the Old Testament promises in the narrative lectionary. Kent and I are meeting individually with each ninth grader as we prepare them for Confirmation Sunday on October 26th.
I love talking with youth about their faith and you as a congregation will get a glimpse of how the Holy Spirit is working their lives as they affirm their baptism.
SWAG, our Wednesday night high school youth program is also off to a great start. This year we will be talking about some awesome topics. We will be talking about: hospitality, how to pray and create our own psalms, our identity in Christ, spiritual practices and poverty. Our Sunday morning high school Connections group meets every week to study scripture and create a prayer petition for the prayers of the people. If you know any high school youth please let them know that we would love to have them involved in either group.
This congregation has raised up wonderful youth leaders. You also have great intergenerational ministries already happening. Thank you for letting me be a part of it. If you would like to be a part of our children and youth ministry in any way, let me know. Specifically at the moment we are looking for people to serve on our Children Youth and Family committee.
