Faith Formation for ALL

Christus Victor is a church where the Holy Spirit is moving!

“Faith Formation for ALL” is a time to gather all ages together for learning, time for small group discussion, and time to invite new people into relationships with Christ and each other. Whether you are a first-time worshiper or a long-time member, there will be opportunities for intentional spiritual growth for the whole congregation.

Note: Faith Formation For All & GLOW on one form (multiple kids in the same family can register all on one form)

Elementary school age kids (grades 1-5) gather together for, pizza, activities, music, and fellowship Wednesdays at 6:00 pm.

Class Schedules

Both Sunday mornings for Faith Formation For All, and Wednesday evenings for GLOW, Confirmation, and Youth Group, are happening! So, make sure to sign up, check out important dates below, and put them on your calendars.

“ ’Twas the Weekend Before Christmas”

> GLOW Movie “The Star”
GLOWsters are all invited to church on Saturday morning, December 17 to watch the Christmas Classic, “The Star” together. We’ll meet from 11 AM – 1 PM in the Fellowship Hall, and invite everyone to come in their PJs, bring a blanket, stuffed animals, and lunch. Hot cocoa will be provided. Younger siblings and preschoolers are invited to join, but parents need to stay with them.

> Christmas Light Caravan
It’s back! On Saturday, December 17 we will be caravanning around Apple Valley and the south metro to look at Christmas Light displays. Hot cocoa, treats, and a fire pit outside at the south side of church before we leave from 4:30- 5:30, then we will caravan out together at 5:30.

> High School Holiday ABCs
Arby’s, Board Games, and Christmas Movies. Could there be a better combination? Sunday, December 18 after Faith Formation from 12 – 4 PM, the Youth Group will have a Christmas Party in the Youth Room. We’ll play board games, go get Arby’s (bring a few bucks for lunch), make some popcorn, and snuggle up with a Christmas classic.

Charmaine Harrell is our current nursery attendant. She is available in the nursery during the 11 am worship service (9:30 am during the summer) and during special events. We also have volunteers with completed background checks and nursery experience who help out in the nursery. We love seeing kids in our worship services as much as possible, but we also know that sometimes parents/kids need a safe place and designated place to be while at CLVC.
We have a specially designated area in our sanctuary for kids 0-3 called the prayground. This area has quiet play items, a coloring table, and books for little ones. This area is designed to give parents an option to closely supervise their children in a kid-friendly environment during the worship service.
Busy Bags
In the back of the sanctuary, we have bags with quiet play items for kids to play with during the worship service.
Every year we send kids to WAPO Bible camp in Amery Wisconsin. If kids have completed 2nd-3rd grade they can join us for a weekend with SEEDS camp. Kids who have completed 4th grade-high school join us for a week of camp every year. Check out or register here

Vacation Bible School will be the week of Aug. 7-11, Sunday – Thursday, 5:30 – 8 PM. Camp Counselors from Good Earth Village will be joining us this summer to help lead VBS. PreK through 6th grade children and friends are all welcome to sign up. We also need lots of volunteers! Help is needed with prep, decorating, snacks, music and tech, shepherding children from station to station, and tearing down.
Whether a volunteer or a child (or friends!) please register here:

3 year old Bibles

3 Year olds at CVLC get Spark story Bibles to use at home. These Bibles are designed to help parents read Bibles with their kids at home.

3rd Grade Bibles
All of our 3rd graders and their families are invited to a three-week class on the Bible with the Pastors. At the end of this class, the receive a Bible as a gift from the congregation as well as a blessing during the service.
4th Grade Advent Wreaths
Each year before advent starts 4th graders and families are invited to make Advent wreaths. The families are invited to take the Advent wreaths home to help with family devotions in the season before Christmas. 4th graders and families also help us light the Advent wreath over the course of the season.
5th Grade 1st Communion
Each year the pastors get together with 5th graders and families to teach them about communion. In these classes families learn more about the Lutheran tradition of communion and paint communion cups. 5th graders traditionally receive their first communion at the Maundy Thursday service.
Service Opportunities
We have lots of other ways kids can help out at church and in our community. We do FMSC mega packs and local packs, Armful of Love (Christmas gifts for those in need), Thanksgiving Baskets (for those who need a Thanksgiving meal), and much, much more.
