Welcome to the Youth Ministry site for Christus Victor Lutheran Church. Our mission is to inspire youth to live Christ-centered lives. Our goal is to provide a safe and welcoming environment where youth can build community with one another, learn about Christ, grow in their faith and be challenged in new and engaging ways. By the time graduation comes, our hope  is that our youth will be servant leaders in the community and have a solid faith foundation.

Wednesday High School Youth Group

Meets during the school year from 8:00 – 9:00 pm in the Youth Room. This is a great opportunity to be introduced to youth ministry at CVLC and get connected with high school youth from seven different high schools. Come and grow in community through weekly devotionals, fellowship, and creative group activities.

Sunday Morning High School Connections

Meets during the school year from 9:45 – 10:45 pm in the Youth Director’s office. Connect with other youth to share what’s going on in life, enjoy the humor of Reverend Fun, and discuss a faith topic  related to current events. Treats and drinks are available wake our minds and energize our conversations. Connections is an opportunity to go deeper in your faith and express your opinions in a safe environment.

SWAT Team

SWAT Team is our volunteer group of high school servant leaders. The acronym stands for  Servants With AttiTude and takes its inspiration from 1 Timothy 6:12, to fight the good fight of faith.  Having an attitude to serve, SWAT Team helps out with Confirmation, DeKaF, JIFY, Faith Trek, and Recharge Worship. To join, you must be in high school, commit to helping with one of the above ministries, and be a positive role model to the kids you work with.

Confirmation

Meeting during the school year from 6:00 – 7:52 pm, Confirmation supports and equips middle school youth and their families to grow in faith, love, and obedience to Jesus Christ. The core of our confirmation ministry happens through both large and small group time on Wednesday nights.  A typical night includes pizza, large group presentation on the topic of the day, and then small group time for review of the lesson, discussion, prayer, highs and lows, and general bonding as brothers and sisters in Christ.  Service and Fellowship events happen throughout the year, and usually take place outside of the normal Wednesday night time. Confirmation is open to youth in grades 6th – 8th.

DeKaF

Meets on Sundays from 9:45 – 10:45 pm in the Youth Room. DeKaF, Devoted to Educating Kids and Fun, is the Sunday morning middle school youth group. DeKaF takes traditional Bible study and turns it on its head creating a wacky but engaging learning experience. Sprinkled with in the normal meeting times are field trips and breakfast destinations. Supported by a rotation group of teachers, DeKaF is sure to leave a lasting memory along your faith journey.

Beyond the Norm

Supporting the core youth ministries are events, activities, and trips designed to take our youth out of their comfort zone so they can learn, serve, and grow in new ways. These ministries include 30 Hour Famine, Camp WAPO, Feed My Starving Children, Simpson House Shelter, Mission Trips, Lock-ins, and Retreats.
