Music
The choirs at Christus Victor will be starting up soon, and we are looking for new faces to add to our familiar ones. If you sing along in church you are qualified to sing in a choir! You don’t have to be a “singing wonder”; you just have to enjoy singing. That’s the qualification to be a member. Please consider joining us this year. Pick a choir that fits your time schedule for rehearsing and singing and show up at practice. That’s what it takes. You do have to make a commitment to showing up, but hey, God calls us to “show up” every day so once or twice a week shouldn’t be that hard! We’ll look forward to having you!
Senior Choir
Rehearsals begin Wed Sept 3rd – 8:00 to 9:00 P.M. in the sanctuary. Practice is every Wed at this time except In Dec then it’s from 7:30 - 8:45 P.M. with Upward Call for the Christmas music. We sing at least 2 Sundays a month at one or both services. We do a variety of styles of music over the year and are done on the 1st Sunday in May. This choir is open to adults. If you are in high school you need to belong to, and be active in some music group (band, choir, etc.) in your high school. All new members are welcome especially sopranos and tenors. We are a lot of fun….. Come join us!
Upward Call
Leads the contemporary worship twice a month. We lead the hymns, new and old. We will be doing some regular anthems again this year and joining the Senior Choir in learning all the Christmas music. It’s a relaxed, easy, fun group and is open to high school kids and adults. You do not have to sing at both services on the Sundays that we lead worship. We would love to have you at both,
but you can choose to just sing at first service or second, depending on your family schedule. Rehearsals are from 7:00 - 7:55 P.M. on Wed nights in the sanctuary. During the month of Dec our rehearsals are from 7:30 - 8:45 with the Senior Choir for the Christmas music. We end the year on the 2nd Sunday of May.
Youth Choir
Still not named, so for now we’re still a “youth” choir. We meet on Wed nights – 5:30 to 6:00 P.M. in the sanctuary. This is open to any 6th grade through high school kid that just wants to sing and have some fun. We have been a middle school choir, but there is stuff in the works for a fun musical
event, so I’m going to be looking for some “singing waiters (and waitresses)” so might like more than just middle school involved. Plus you get to try weird food if you are a member of this choir. What could be better than that??? We need boys, so come on guys, make it happen! Rehearsals start the first week of confirmation, Wed, Sept 17th. Be there or be square! The year ends on the 1st Sunday in May.

Spirit Bound
Spirit Bound is our musical outreach ministry. Rehearsals begin the 1st Sunday in Oct – 6:30 - 8:30 P.M. in the sanctuary. Each month we rehearse 3 or 4 Sundays and get one Sunday off. We begin singing as a group in May, continue through the first few weeks of June, and then head out on a 10 day national tour in mid June. You have to be able to commit to the tour in order to be a member of Spirit Bound. The cost ranges from $400 to $500 and a variety of fundraising is available all year long to help bring the cost down to nothing. Pastor Kent is writing our drama again, and the music is great - lots of variety. This group is only open to 9th grade and older - no exceptions. Come to church the last Sunday in September and find out more. We will be singing and talking about our ministry as a part of the worship services on that Sunday. We are also looking for a “sound technician” again this year. We need someone who can run our sound board in the back and keep everything running smoothly. Some knowledge of music is required.
