1. Pick up a basket from the CV office or find some other container to fill;
2. Be creative & fill it;
3. Return it to the CV office by Sunday, March 14th

On March 21st, we need basket bidders. If you are willing to bid on a basket, follow these simple steps:

1. Join us on March 29 at 9:30 am in the Fellowship Hall;
2. Bid on a basket – or 2 or 3;
3. Enjoy some African coffee, treats, music & fellowship;
4. Watch your bids and be sure to rebid so you outbid your friends.

This year’s Baskets of Love event goes to support our partnership congregation in Tanzania and the ambassadors from Christus Victor who will travel to Tanzania in August 2010.

Bring your Bible and join us for a rousing journey into God’s Word and the life of faith.  You don’t need to know anything about the Bible, just a willingness to read, ask questions and learn.  Just show up at 10:00am on Thursday mornings, we’ll provide the coffee!

Saturday, April 10, at 8:30am – “Mentoring: Why Men Need Mentors”

The journey of Christian discipleship is one of repentance and transformation; better known as CHANGE!  Men need mentors, and need to be mentors to guide, help, and challenge us on our journey of faith.

WHEN: Beginning Sunday, April 11 at 9:45am (5 sessions)

WHERE: In the Fellowship Hall

Jesus helped his disciples – then and now – to answer questions about praying to the Lord and Creator of the Universe.  In the process, Jesus the Christ, completely redefined existing religious conventions regarding prayer.  Jesus taught us that we can address God intimately as our “Daddy” (Abba).  And we don’t pray to inform God or persuade Him to do our will, but to be reformed and transformed by God so that our will may become aligned with His will.

March 7 at 9:45am – “Binding and Loosing the Scripture” – This was one of the most challenging and enlightening subjects of the series “How Lutherans Interpret the Bible: the ELCA and Homosexuality.”  We will look at both Biblical and historical examples of binding and loosing scripture in terms of ethics, morality, society, and the life of the Church.

March 14 at 9:45am – “The ELCA: local, national, and global ministries” – In addressing the conflict over the ELCA National Assembly vote regarding homosexuality, the question has arisen, “What’s the ELCA all about, and what difference does it make to be part of the ELCA?”  This forum will address these questions and help us understand the length and breadth of the ministries of the ELCA of which we are a part.
