Christus Victor Lutheran Church

May 4 & 5 — Mark your calendars for fun, friends, food, service, learning, Jesus – oh, and getting away together! We’ll meet at 4:30 p.m. at Christus Victor on Friday to carpool to Gustavus Adolphus College, and return to CV on Saturday around 6:00 p.m. Thirty dollars each, but please call Pr. Mary Kaye if the cost is an issue, because WE WANT YOU ALL THERE.

Bring your Bible and join us for a rousing journey into God’s Word and the life of faith. You don’t need to know anything about the Bible, just have a willingness to read, ask questions, and learn.

It’s so easy to join! Just show up at 10:00am on Thursday mornings, we’ll provide the coffee!

Current Focus: the book of Acts

After a long hiatus, Coach Matt Zarras and Assistant Coach Carrie Peterson have pulled together 18 people to for a CV Softball Team, playing in the Apple Valley parks and recreation
league!

Games will begin in late April on Friday nights, and we will post the schedule on a bulletin board at church and on the CV Facebook page as well.

How can you help and support the team?
- Vote for a team name (coming soon)!
- Lend your artistic talents to create a team logo, which also will be voted on. (Submit a design to Matt Zarras or Carrie
Peterson once the team name has been decided.)
- Sponsor the team and get your name or your
business/company name on the Team and Fan tshirts! Talk to Pastor Kent if you are interested in sponsoring the team.
- Buy a CV Softball Team Fan t-shirt when they are
available!
- Go to the games and cheer on our team! We will be
scheduling picnics and post-game gatherings throughout the season, but we will need your help!

Again, let Matt, Carrie, or Pastor Kent know if you’d
like to help organize such an event.

Maybe you don’t see yourself traveling to Africa, or maybe you do see yourself traveling to Africa, or maybe you just want to try the food of Africa.  Doesn’t matter why, we want you to join us on Sunday April 22^nd 1:00 at Safari Restaurant in Minneapolis.  Some of us that have traveled to Tanzania miss the great food we learned to love and have found it at the Safari Restaurant.   Everyone is invited to join us and enjoy some authentic African food and great fellowship with former Tanzania travelers, maybe future Tanzania travelers?

The Children and Family Ministries would like to invite ALL KIDS to our annual Easter Puppet Show and egg hunt on Easter Sunday morning!  We will meet in Room 113 (PraiseHim Playhouse) for a puppet show at 10:00am.  Then we will decorate Easter Egg bags, followed by the egg hunt!  And not just plastic eggs filled with candy.  These eggs will be filled with items relating to the Easter story.  So hop on by and join us as we use this tradition to teach the wonderful news of our risen Savior~the TRUE reason-for-the-season!

Mark your calendars, we have WAPO summer camp dates set.

June 22-24: Wapo SEEDS campers (students who have completed second or third grade)

June 23-29: TIM teamers (those who’ve completed 9-12th grades)

June 24-29: Youth campers (those who’ve completed 4-9th grades)

**Wilderness Canoe Base service/adventure trip will be in July, dates to be announced soon.

Completed Wapo registration forms should be returned to Pastor Mary Kaye, with a check made out to “Lake Wapogasset Lutheran Bible Camp.” Spots currently reserved for Christus Victor campers amd friends on those dates will be relinquished on March 7. After that date, we cannot guarantee that WAPO will have room for us those dates. Please talk with Pr. Mary Kaye if any questions.

An orientation session for parents/children and youth new to Camp WAPO (or anyone else who is interested) will be held immediately following the last worship service on June 3.

Dessert Theater is coming on Saturday, March 17th at 7:30 p.m.
Proceeds from this family-friendly event will provide camperships for the campers going to WAPO this summer. There is no set cost, but we will be taking a free-will offering. Nursery service is not provided for this event.
