Christus Victor Lutheran Church

After a fun summer off and a great week of VBS, it is time to start thinking about Faith Trek, our Sunday school program at Christus Victor.  In Faith Trek, children in preschool through 5^th grade learn about God’s word through games, playtime, drama, art, music and storytelling.

 Important New Information regarding Faith Trek:

There are a few new things for families to know this year.  First, we will be introducing a weekly large group opening. Each week all children in grades 1-5 will begin in the CV Cinema for a 10 minute opening that will include a short group activity, some additional discussion on the theme, music and a prayer.  After the opening, the shepherds will lead groups to their correct rooms for the regular Faith Trek lesson.

 Secondly, this year we will be implementing a new dismissal procedure.  Every child, preschool through grade 5, will need to be signed in and out of their class each week.  Parents should bring preschoolers and kindergartners to their classrooms to be signed in and out.  Children in 1^st through 5^th grade need to be brought to the CV Cinema at 9:45am and sign in with the class shepherd.  At the end of class, 10:45am, parents must pick their child up at their assigned classroom for the day and sign out.  Faith Trek room assignments will be posted at the CV Cinema and on the bulletin board outside the church office.

 Faith Trek is run entirely by volunteers.  Your participation is critical to the program.  Please consider volunteering in at least one area.  In order to protect the safety of all of our children, all volunteers are required to fill out a background check form.  We are asking all adults to fill out this form so you are able to volunteer during the year.

Early Bird Special Pay $3/family and shop from 3pm to 4pm before the official opening on Friday. 

Volunteers ChristusVictor volunteers who have worked two hours or more during the week are invited to shop at the Friday afternoon pre-sale from 1pm to 3pm.

 Silent Auction A Silent Auction featuring unique items will operate from Friday at 4pm until Sunday morning at 11am.

When Can I Drop Off My Items?

Clothing and Small Items:  August 7 – 9 (Sunday, Monday & Tuesday) from 10:30am to 9pm and August 10 (Wednesday) from 10:30am to 12 noon.

Furniture and Large Items:  August 11 (Thursday) from 8am to 6pm.  Limited pick-up service is available.  If you can’t deliver your large donations, please call the church at 952-454-6927 by Monday, August 8 to make arrangements.

PLEASE NOTE:  Because we begin pricing items on Thursday, August 11, we cannot accept clothing or small items after Wednesday, August 10 at 6pm.  Please do not leave items after this deadline.  Garage Sale volunteers reserve the right to refuse any donation for any reason. Thank you for your understanding in these matters.

 What Kind of CLEAN & USABLE & UNTAGGED Items Should I Donate?

Antiques, Baskets, Books, Collectables, Electronics, Furniture, House Wares, Jewelry, Linens, Office Equipment, Seasonal, Sporting Goods, Tools, Toys, Children’s Clothing (dresses, two-piece outfits, winter-wear on hangers) and Adult Clothing (suits, dresses, shirts, slacks and coats on hangers.)  We do not accept Christmas trees, cribs, computer monitors, curtain rods, exercise equipment, infant seats, mattresses, microwaves, organs, paint, televisions WITHOUT digital converter boxes, skis or water beds.

 How Can I Help?

Please save items and encourage family and friends to contribute to and attend the garage sale. Offer to take items to the church for them. There are extra flyers in the church office – please share them with anybody and everybody!  It takes a crew of volunteers to keep a garage sale on course.  Volunteer sign-up sheets are located at the Information Desk.  Help will be needed during the week of set-up, during the actual garage sale, and during the clean-up. (Anyone who helps clean-up can keep any unsold item.)
