AUGUST ALL COMMITTEE NIGHT…Just a reminder, All Committee Night is Tuesday, August 15^th, at 7:00PM.
BACKGROUND SCREENING ANNOUNCEMENT…In an effort to provide the safest environment at CV, we have started a background screening process to help protect our children & comply with legal requirements.  This process includes conducting criminal background checks for volunteers involved with children, church finances & certain other categories.  Members volunteering in these areas may be asked to participate in this process & we want to thank you in advance for your cooperation.  All searches will be performed by a professional search firm & all information will be kept strictly confidential.
PT NURSERY CARE PROVIDER POSITION OPEN…We are looking for a nursery care provider to share nursery coverage with Trish Fike as Laura Colin returns to college mid-August.  If you are interested in this part-time position, please contact Connie Walter at (952) 233-1771 or e-mail her at connie.walter@thrivent.com.  Referrals are welcomed & appreciated!

CV MEN’S SAILING TRIP 2006…A fellowship adventure for the men of CV & their friends.  Experience is not required.  We will sail Thursday, September 14^th or Friday, September 15^th through Sunday September 17^th, to be decided by those going.  There is information on the Men’s Bulletin Board & if you are interested in going, please sign up at the “Information Desk”.
MEN’S BIBLE STUDY…Join us on the first & third Tuesday mornings of each month at 7:00AM in the Art Room for Bible Study, discussion, & prayer.  Bring your Bibles, coffee provided.

WAPO QUILT AUCTION AND PIG ROAST…Saturday, August 19^th.  The quilt auction will be at 11:30AM., with a quilt preview Friday, August 18^th from 12:00 – 8:00PM.  Silent bids are welcome!  The pig roast will be from 10:30AM – 1:00PM.  Menu includes: pork sandwiches, baked beans, potatoes, coleslaw, cake and beverages.  Prices are as follows:  Adult – $7.00, Children (3-11) – $4.00. 
WE ARE HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE…that Life Line Screening will be at CV September 1^st, 2006, beginning at 9:00AM.  They will be offering four low cost, non–invasive preventative screenings using ultrasound technology.  For more information, there are flyers available at the “Information Desk”.  Appointments are required.  Call for priority appointments at 1-800-324-1851.
