OUR TREASURE IS YOUR TREASURE…2006 CV Garage Sale!  Friday, August 11^th 4-8 P.M. and Saturday, August 12^th 9 A.M.- 2 P.M.  Preparations are underway and members are asked to search for treasures to sell, and to sign up to volunteer at this great event!  Things to do: Mark the dates, Find the treasures, Volunteer!
BACKGROUND SCREENING ANNOUNCEMENT…In an effort to provide the safest environment at CV, we have started a background screening process to help protect our children and comply with legal requirements.  This process includes conducting criminal background checks for volunteers involved with children, church finances and certain other categories.  Members volunteering in these areas may be asked to participate in this process and we want to thank you in advance for your cooperation.  All searches will be performed by a professional search firm and all information will be kept strictly confidential.
PT NURSERY CARE PROVIDER POSITION OPEN…We are looking for a nursery care provider to share nursery coverage with Trish Fike as Laura Colin returns to college mid-August.  If you are interested in this part- time position, please contact Connie Walter at (952) 233-1771 or e-mail her at connie.walter@thrivent.com.  Referrals are welcomed and appreciated!

TWINS GAME…Friday, August 11^th.  Grades 6 – 12 may sign up.  The game starts at 7:10 PM but we’ll be meeting at church at 5:40PM.  The cost is $15.00 & a portion of that cost will go towards Lutheran Social Service to help the homeless.  There are 12 spots available.

CV MEN’S SAILING TRIP 2006…A fellowship adventure for the men of CV & their friends.  Experience is not required.  We will sail Thursday, Sept. 14^th or Friday, Sept. 15^th through Sunday Sept. 17^th, to be decided by those going.  We will depart Apple Valley the evening before.  Sailing location is Lake Superior’s Apostle Islands.  The cost will vary with days & menu.  Last year’s cost for 3 days with 11 sailors was $135.00.  There is information on the Men’s Bulletin Board & if you are interested in going, please sign up at the “Information Desk”.

AMNION CRISIS PREGNANCY CENTER…in Burnsville is an evangelistic ministry that offers limited first trimester ultrasound exams to women who are considering abortion.  Ultrasounds save hundreds of babies each year!  We are seeking trained, certified ultrasound technicians to volunteer a few day or evening hours at the Center.  Please contact Rowan Levenhagen, R.
