WAPO…Memorial Day Pancake Extravaganza—Monday, May 29th, 8:00AM to 12:00PM at WAPO!!!  The menu includes:  Four kinds of pancakes including:  buttermilk, Finnish, oven, blueberry, potato, or applesauce, real maple syrup, many toppings, sausage, juice, milk, coffee & tea.  Cost:  $6.00 – Adult & $4.00 – Child (4-11).  AND CRAFT SALE, with local craftspeople will be selling their handiwork.  Proceeds help finish Ox Lake’s new chapel/storm shelter.
JUNE COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT…ADOPT-A-HIGHWAY clean up June 10th.  Meet at church at 10:00AM & we will carpool to our starting point.  Sign up at the “Information Desk”.  Contact Suzanne Holm with questions (612) 251-1527

We are looking for people to fill the “special music” slots (during the offering) for the entire summer.  We have vacancies from Memorial Day weekend on, so we’d appreciate your help.  There is a sign up sheet at the information desk.  Please check that out.  We are in special need during June!
READ THE BOOK?  GOING TO THE MOVIE?…While you are enjoying some good fiction, come & learn about some Historic & Biblical Facts!  Join us for “Decoding the Da Vinci Code,” by Dr. Ken Bailey, Sunday, June 4th after the 10:00AM worship service in the Fellowship Hall.  Grab your coffee for a “fascinating, mind-expanding, faith-building analysis” by a world-renowned Biblical Scholar.  If you can’t make it June 4th, but are interested in learning more, please contact Pastor Kent.
 

 

THE SCOUT HONOR THEY FATHERS…with a Pancake Breakfast!  Boy Scout Troop 298 & Pack 298 will be participating.  Sunday, June 18th, 8:00AM – 12:00 noon at the American legion Post 1776, 14521 Granada Drive, Apple Valley.  Tickets are with your nearest 298 Scout & the cost is $6 per person, kids 5 & under are FREE!

CHURCH DIRECTORY UPDATE…the CV picture directory is coming together nicely.  The committee is very close to sending the entire package to Olan Mills to print.  The directories will be delivered as soon as they are available.  Thank you for your contribution of pictures & for your patience.

“LIFE SENIORS”…persons 60 years or older are invited to join Pastor George in the Youth Room TODAY at 10:00AM.  Let’s chat about whether there is an interest & need to form a 60’s plus group at CV.
ROOTBEER FLOATS…are being sold by the WAPO Campers after both services for only $1.  Refresh yourself with a cool, frosty glass of Vanilla Ice Cream & soothing Rootbeer.  Support camp & enjoy goodness at its best!

SIXTH ANNUAL MIDWIFE KIT PROJECT…was a huge success due to the many generous donations Social Ministries received.  We do not have a final count yet, but will have an article in the June “Voice of Victory”. Thank you to all who donated time to garage sale, surged onesies, assembled kits, etc. & to those who donated items.  We could not have such successful ministry projects without your valued support.
 

 

LAST WEEK — LAST CHANCE — KASH FOR KATRINA…Social Ministries is raising “KASH” for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.  Alice McCammon will be at the “Information Desk” in the narthex collecting any & all donations for our companion church, Christus Victor of Ocean Springs, MS.  It costs approximately $20.00 to purchase the items in these kits.  Please prayerfully consider a “KASH” donation.

A GREAT BIG THANK… to all who contributed to the Faith Trek Lenten Service collection for “Feed My Starving Children”.  We collected $854, in 61 M&M tubes, which translates to 3,416 quarters or 44 lbs. of change.
YOU! BEHIND THE SCREEN…We are looking for more people to help run the screen for Worship services.  If you can turn a computer on & pay attention during worship, you can do it!  Please attend a training session on:  Tuesday, May 16th at 7:00PM.  If you have any questions, please call Shane Colin (952) 808-0838.  We are especially looking for help from our youth!

SPECIAL OLYMPICS…mark your calendars for June 24th.  We will be meeting at the church at 7:15AM & car pooling to the event at the U of MN & get home about 2:00 – 2:30PM.  There are sign-up sheets at the “Information Desk” & the sign-up deadline is Sunday, June 4th.  We are collecting Coke bottle caps off of 20 oz Coke bottles for the Special Olympics.  They are using the codes found in the cap to win prizes to be awarded to the competing athletes at the Special Olympics.  We have a drop site at the in the narthex for people to drop off their Coke bottle caps.  If you have any questions, please call Beth Dallmann at (952) 885-0727.
